How does it work?
The grain is generated procedurally — a fresh random pattern every time you roll the dice — and blended into your photo the way silver halide crystals show up on real film stock. The vignette gently darkens the corners, and the light leaks are soft warm glows seeping in from the edges, like a film door that didn't quite close.
Any tips for a convincing analog look?
Less is more: grain around 30–50 and a light vignette usually read as "shot on film", while maxed-out sliders read as "filter". Larger grain sizes suit low-light or vintage moods; keep grain size at 1–2 for a modern 35mm feel.
Does the download lose quality?
The effect is re-rendered from scratch on your original full-resolution photo and saved as PNG, so nothing is lost beyond the effect itself. The preview you see is just a faster downscaled version of the same processing.
Is it really private?
Yes. There is no upload: all processing happens in your browser using canvas and JavaScript. Close the tab and nothing remains.
